Regardless of where you may have come from, you are now on this blog-page so it would be good to explain what this will all soon be about. The main idea around this blog is to explore issues surrounding language and offer some ideas about what created them. It will talk about what language is and where it came from in the broadest possible ways while also attempting to provide a better understanding of some of the curiosities of modern linguistics and show the problems different learners of languages have encountered. In addition to all of this, it will try to give an account how language came to exist in the state by which we know it today. Ultimately, it will serve as the where, why, what, how and why of language.
This may all sound rather strange, to give such a high-flying statement of intent but I, myself, am a graduate of two languages, those of Spanish and Portuguese, as well as having studied French and Irish in secondary school and also being a native speaker of English. I am a keen traveler and through this, the study of language has, for the best part of my life, been of great interest to me, so it seemed only natural to compose blog posts, once I had finished college. So with that, I will share my interest with the larger world and with all of this said, I give you Linguistic Explorations...
